What is OCC?

Operation Christmas Child is a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse that uses gift-filled shoeboxes to share the love of Jesus with children worldwide impacted by poverty, war, and natural disasters.

Life Church is an OCC Drop-Off Location in our area. During National Collection Week, we will need 4-6 volunteers each at Life Church to help process shoebox drop-offs. Use the button below for days, times, and to volunteer.

How To Pack A Shoebox

Pick up a box and label

Pick up a shoebox and label from Life Church in the lobby beginning, November 3rd. You can also use a standard shoebox from home, and print a label here.

Choose an Age & Gender

2-4 years old. 5-9 years old. 10-14 years old.

What to Pack

A ‘Wow’ Item. Dolls, Large toy trucks or cars, Soccer balls and pumps, Stuffed animals, and Musical instruments.

School Supplies. Pencils & sharpener, Pencil case, Erasers, Pens, Crayons, Markers, Notebooks, Index cards, Calculator, Scissors, Ruler, Glue stick, Small adhesive tape.

Craft & Supplies. Puzzles, Binoculars, Compass, Chalkboard and chalk, Fishing kit, Jump rope, Coloring books or pads, Dry watercolor set, Playdough, Stickers, Craft kits or colorful rope, Books or picture books.

Personal Care. Comb or brush, Toothbrush, Washcloth, Fun adhesive bandages, Eating utensils, Nail clipper & file.

Clothing & Accessories. Clothing and undergarments, Flip-flops or shoes, Cold weather items, Sunglasses, Bags, backpacks, or purses, Hair accessories, Hats, Wristwatch or jewelry, Flashlight.

Toys. Ball, Frisbee, Building blocks, Finger puppets, Slinky, Yo-yo, Magnets, Kaleidoscope, Interactive toys, Other small toys & figures.

Do not Pack

Food, candy, or gum, Toothpaste, Used or damaged items, Scary or war-related items, Wearable traditional camouflage, Seeds or organic matter, Liquids, Medication, Money, Breakable items, Matches, fire starters, or aerosols, Knife, saw, or razor blades.
