IN WHAT AREAS OF MY LIFE...

  1. ...do I fail to trust in Jesus’ sufficiency?

  2. ...do I trust in my own strength and sufficiency?

  3. ...do I fail to submit to Jesus’ authority?

  4. In what ways, or in what areas of my life, do I fail to trust in Jesus’ sovereign power over me, and over all things?

Communion Reflection Questions:

  • In what ways, or in what areas of my life, do I sense my own hard-heartedness?

  • Do I fail to trust in Jesus’ sufficiency?

  • Do I trust too much in my own strength? Do I fail to submit to Jesus’ authority?

  • Do I fail to trust in Jesus’ sovereign power and control?

Discussion questions:

  1. What is your response to the impatience Jesus demonstrates toward the Pharisees (8:11-13)? How does that impatience reveal clearly his glory and perfection?

  2. What evidence do you see of your own hard-heartedness? Consider again the diagnostic questions we looked at on Sunday:

    a)  In what ways, or in what areas of my life, do I fail to trust in Jesus’ sufficiency?

    b)  In what ways, or in what areas of my life, do I trust in my own strength and sufficiency?

    c)  In what ways, or in what areas of my life, do I fail to submit to Jesus’ authority?

    d)  In what ways, or in what areas of my life, do I fail to trust in Jesus’ sovereign power over me, and over all things?

  3. How should we respond to our own hard-heartedness?
