Mark 2:1-12

If Jesus never answered another one of your prayers, would you still worship him?

Have you truly brought to Jesus your deepest need – your need for the forgiveness of sins?

Romans 8:1-4

I believe in God the Father Almighty,

Maker of heaven and earth;

and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

born of the virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into hell.

The third day he rose again from the dead.

He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic church, the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Discussion questions:

  2. How do you need to fill in these blanks: If Jesus truly is the Son of Man, with authority on earth to forgive sins, then…

  3. I need to repent of _________________________?

  4. I need to believe in _________________________?

  5. I need to trust Jesus to _________________________?

  7. After Jesus healed the paralytic, Mark tells us the crowds responded with amazement and worship (2:12). What keeps you from being amazed by God’s amazing grace? How can you grow in worship in response to what God has done for you in Christ?
