  • Isaiah 35:5-6

Discussion questions:

  1. In what ways/areas of your life, and even your ministry, are you tempted toward doing large things, famously, and as fast as possible? Why are you tempted in these ways? How can faith in the gospel combat these desires?

  2. In what area of your life do you have the hardest time saying about our Lord: “He has done all things well” (7:37)? How does this story encourage you to believe that is true, even in the midst of struggles and afflictions?

  3. How does this story shape the way you pray for your family? For lost friends and neighbors? Why is it that other priorities often crowd out such prayers in our lives?

  4. Why is it insufficient to view Jesus as merely a good teacher/man and spiritual healer? What is lost if we have such a view?
